RBC Gran Fondo Texas Charity Bike Ride Absolute Success
The 2017 RBC Gran Fondo Texas charity bike ride was an absolute success generating record contributions to the Texas Medical Center Orchestra (TMCO) and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Each organization received a donation of $42,500 at the May 20 TMCO concert at the Hobby Center.
The RBC Gran Fondo Texas charity bike ride was founded in 2011 and this year’s event was held in Montgomery, with over 1,200 riders participating. Over the past seven years, it has had nearly 9,000 riders making it one of the largest rides recommended by the National MS Society as a lead-up ride to the BP MS 150 Houston-to-Austin event. Since inception, the ride has contributed more than $360,000 to the two charities. Both TMCO and the National MS Society are qualified charities under section 501 (c) (3) of the IRS code.
